In the information rapid development era, online teaching presents unprecedented hot. MOOC-oriented large-scale online courses overturns the traditional classroom teaching form, has opened up a new model of online teaching. Following MOOC, the various online teaching new style also gets rapid development, especially the small private online course SPOC gets more favor. SPOC solved the MOOC’s shortcomings, such as, high outdrop rates and low completion rates, can "teach" but can’t "education", single teaching mode, teaching quality can’t be guaranteed. Thanks to SPOC’s advantages, many educators start to study SPOC, which is mainly focus on the SPOC’s theoretical analysis, the dialectical relations between SPOC and MOOC, SPOC teaching caseas analysis and exploration of SPOC teaching mode, etc., these studies provide us with the sufficient theoretical basis to apply SPOC for teaching. It can be said SPOC is a reform of traditional teaching model, no matter the teaching reform is in content or form, the main purpose is to perfect teaching and learning, improve the teaching quality. For the current disintegrated teaching and classroom teaching as the main teaching form, only applies SPOC to the entity class and combine with the specific subject to teaching, is can be conform to the current reality and make the effective teaching, In addition, the abroad has made a lot of teaching practices of SPOC at present, the domestic also followed abroad to start the teaching practice of SPOC, but all the teaching practice is facing the well-known colleges and universities to carry out, while it is very few that applying SPOC to basic education stage. Therefore, this article is based on the above reasons, puts forward the practice research that appling SPOC into the junior English classroom teaching.Through analysing SPOC’s course types, teaching cases at home and abroad, combining with the characteristics of junior English teaching and commonly-used English teaching method at junior high school, this article puts forward the SPOC-based English classroom teaching process, with second-year junior students as an object, based on the PEP English textbooks Go For It, the article carries out the real teaching practice. Through analysing the whole teaching effect, this article concluded that it is feasible to apply the SPOC into the junior English classroom, through analysing the students’ grades, ordinary performance, the teaching effect questionnaires and the face-to-face interviews, this article summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of this SPOC-based English teaching practice, also puts forward some reasonable suggestions for SPOC apply to junior English classroom teaching, so as to provide real and specific example for junior English teachers, also provides a reference for those teachers who will apply SPOC into his or her classroom in future.
