The era of a personal scientific research has become the past. As a post-graduate innovation backbone, the graduate student innovation team plays an increasing important role. After Ministry of Education launched "Postgraduate Education Innovation Program", many universities have successfully set up graduate student innovation team. "Five Development Concepts" which was pointed out by Xi Jinping emphasizes the primacy of innovation, and it also provides further guidelines for the development of graduate student innovation team. Compared with the key universities, although graduate students innovation team in local colleges is strength weak, it can make great contribution to the cultivation of innovative talents. This study is based on the actual facts and the related paper of the graduate student innovation team building. In combination with the relevant theoretical results based on practical construction of graduate student innovation team, this study summarizes the problem of local university graduate student innovation team construction. In order to make a research on the problem of local university graduate student innovation team construction, it investigate and analyze the postgraduate innovation teams of the 18 departments of A University in Local Universities, focusing on conducting in-depth interviews to three master’s innovation teams and two teachers at the postgraduate affairs office. Combined with the related research, this paper summarizes the problems existing in the local university graduate student innovation team building, and it analyzes the reason of the problem, then it puts forward countermeasures, and provides a reference for local university graduate student innovation team construction in China.The thesis mainly includes five parts:The first part introduces the background of the thesis, and reviews the relevant theoretical literature, and clarifies the purpose and methods of the study, the significance of the study. The second part defines the relevant concepts, and discusses the theoretical basis of graduate student innovation team building. The third part, according to the construction of A university graduate student innovation team, focusing on conducting in-depth interviews to three postgraduate innovation teams and two teachers at the postgraduate affairs office, it concludes the enlightenment of local university postgraduate innovation team building. The fourth part, the problems exist in the local university graduate student innovation team building. From Shared vision, staff structure, team culture, team incentives, local university management, it analyzes the problems existing in the local university graduate student innovation team building. The fifth part, the solutions are provided to local university graduate student innovation team building. Based on the summary of construction principle of local university postgraduates’ innovation team building, it puts forward five countermeasures from establishing a common vision for the team, optimizing the structure of the team members, strengthening team culture construction, the team incentive measures, management of the teams.
