The career maturity of primary and middle school teachers not only affects the development of teacher education and teaching activities, but also has an important influence on the physical and mental development of primary and middle school students. With the further development of education reform, the problem of career maturity of primary and middle school teachers is more and more worthy of attention and research. At present, experts and scholars on the teachers’career maturity is mainly in the study of theoretical researches, which lack empirical ones. Primary and middle school teachers’ maturity in what aspects and how to measure, the status, laws and features of teachers’career maturity etc. are worthy of further study.This paper mainly summarized and analyzed the existing shortage of teachers’career maturity model on the basis of relevant researches at home and abroad. Based on teachers’reality, constructed of career maturity 3D theoretical models of teachers. According to the model, complied preliminary questionnaire to carry out pretest. According to pretest results of item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and reliability and validity, combined with relevant experts, teachers’ views on the questionnaire to modify, and finally the form primary and middle school teachers’career maturity questionnaire. By the questionnaire, this paper chose 820 primary and middle school teachers as respondents to learn about the level of development and describe development curve.Through interviews, this paper understood the causes. By identifying the shortcomings of teachers’ career maturity, put forward specific suggestions to promote the teaching career maturity.Based on discussion and analysis of research results, this paper drew the following 6 conclusions:(1) The professional maturity of primary and secondary school teachers is made up of occupational psychological maturity, teaching capability maturity and social adaptation maturity.The structure of the fitting degree of the model is good.(2) The primary and middle school teachers’career maturity questionnaire has good reliability and validity. The questionnaire can be used as a tool for investigation of primary and middle school teachers’ career maturity.(3) The overall development level of career maturity of primary and middle school teachers is at good level; The development curve of career maturity of primary and middle school teachers can be divided into five stages:Adaptation period, rapid growth period, confusion period, rapid growth period, continue to improve. With the change of teachers’teaching, it shows the trend of twists and turns of "rise-up-down-up-rise". The fastest developing stage is the second stage (5-8).(4) In grade distribution of the overall level of the primary and middle school teachers’career maturity, only 2.0% of the self-assessment of teachers career maturity situation reached a very good level.(5) Primary and middle school teachers’career maturity three sub dimensions, the development of professional psychological maturity develops fast;In the third stage.it shows downward trend.(6) Satisfaction of career, scientific research innovation ability, communication and cooperation ability and ability of family life adaptation are important factors which restrict teacher career maturity.On the basis of the above-mentioned conclusions, the paper putted forward the following suggestions.Schools can adopt reducing the burden on teachers and humane care, increase teachers’ well-being, so as to enhance teachers’professional satisfaction; Increasing incentives, expert lectures, level after training, etc., popularize scientific knowledge, enhance teachers’ innovation ability; by encouraging teachers get help from multimedia to enhance communication and cooperation with parents ability; giving teachers in the third stage more active attention and help to get through confused period. Through lectures, training, demonstration, research and other ways to change the growth paths of teachers, and to improve teachers’ career maturity.
