As one of the four most famous Chinese minorities’brocade of Sealand karp is a model of Tujia folk art in the Wuling mountain areas, which belongs to the first batch of state-level non-material cultural heritage, and which is potential fine arts curriculum resources of development value. Development and utilization of curriculum resources are an important source of art teaching. This research adopts the method of combining theory and practice of development and utilization of the west Sealand karp as a high school art curriculum as a starting point. The author does main research in artistic features, trying to transform its artistic features into high school fine arts resources, and by studying development and utilization of the related theory of the curriculum resources to establish contact with fine arts courses of the local high school to develop the avaiable of local art curriculum to be used in the high schools. The author tries to broaden the scope of art teaching for the inheritance and development of art education and lay little of their own power.This article is divided into five parts, the first part analyses the development of Sealand karp and contains the humanistic spirit, stating general situation of the development of Sealand karp systematically and completely, and sums up that it is a reflection of the Tujia humanistic spirit. The second part studies the social value and artistic features of Sealand karp and studies its cultural value, education value and economic value systematically, doing some research in characteristics of art in details to look for as many as evidences for it to transform into fine arts curriculum resources.The third part discusses the realistic significance of development of Sealand karp as a local high school fine arts courses. The fourth part is to study exploration and strategies of development of Sealand karp of art curriculum at the local high school, from connection between it and fine arts curriculum in the high schools, principles and methods of development and utilization of curriculum resources and learning about the students" opinion of it related courses etc. three aspects to explore, summarizes the concrete countermeasures of it to transform into fine arts curriculum resources and do teaching practice. And develop three courses:the Folk Damask-Sealand karp belonging to art appreciation series and the Design of Pattern of Sealand karp belonging to design · technology series and Application of Sealand karp in the Modern Life.The last part is summary and reflection of classroom teaching practice of Sealand karp in the high schools after the summary and reflection, summarizing the deficiencies, limitations and prospects of this research.This research has explored the new train of thought for the effective use of regional excellent art curriculum resources and better inheriting national culture,which has certain reference function for the art teachers to develop and utilize local art resources in Wuling mountain area and similar parts.
