With the continuous development of the new curriculum reform. We have come to the awareness to previous exam oriented education mode already can not adapt to the now the needs of the development of education, but also restricted the development of students’ thinking ability, to suppress the students’ imagination and creativity. Therefore, the traditional prose teaching model has to be integrated, under the new curriculum idea of modern and contemporary prose teaching should pay more attention to the reading ability and reading ability training, pay attention to the combination of reading and writing of the development and migration, pay attention to the cultivation of emotional attitude and values, and ensure the unity of tool and humanity. This paper sums up and analyses prose teaching present situation in the foundation, the prose teaching steps can be divided into the following four basic steps: first, creating context, text import; second, to grasp the overall feel text; third, appreciation of the beauty, comprehend texts; fourth, knowledge transfer, expand the text. In the course of practical teaching practice, these four steps should be combined with the particularity of prose text and students’ actual situation. Based on the above, this essay puts forward the important methods of junior high school teaching of contemporary prose, namely, the diversified reading style, the creative experience, the diversity of thinking and perception, the influence of ubiquitous emotion, multimedia assisted instruction, and so on. In summary, the aim is to cultivate students’ ability to read and understand, enhance the humanistic quality, hope that they can feel the beauty of literature and the beauty of life in the study of prose. At the same time, in the constantly sum up, study and reflection, in teaching made some achievements, but also exposed many problems, and worthy of further reflection and improvement, in order to get the best teaching effect, and make some contribution to the development of Chinese teaching in our country.
