As is known,in Chinese high schools,there are a number of potential students who are learning mathematics,especially in remote countryside schools in China.As a result,the research on the causes of the phenomena and how to make the students improve their mathematics study is worth doing.In the research, questionaire survey methods and their testing methods are applied to show the existing situations.First,learning the cases of the mathematics study in Yongbao Mid-school in Yunxian county in Lincan city in Yunnan Province and according to the data analysis of the problems which the potential students meet;And with the Viggo JKi’s Theory of the zone of proximal development;as well as Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multipleintelligences and constructivist learning Theory and Bloom’s Mastery learning Theory;After 5-month deep research,having found the improving methods of the mathematics study among the students.The survey shows that the potential students in maths study in Yongbao Mid-school have the problems with their mathematics study are as follows,first,in mathematics study they not confident enough.Second,they even have no interest in mathematics study,moreover,the lack of motivation,and even so weak in the ability of independent study.What’s more,the students are short of comprehension reading ability,so they can’t understand the general abstract ability.What’s worse,they are so weak in General signs of Operation and Developing the capacity of maths problem solutions that they are so poor in their primary and junior school mathematics study,including the unsuitable learning methods and so on.The 5-month research on the students mathematics study also shows,for the potential students,the effective ways of mathematics study are : Changing the abstract concepts into specific ones;enhancing the feelings between teachers and students;undertaking Group study;Completing the tasks in limited time and so on.So,the developing of mathematics study abilities and making common progress reflects what the mathematics must do in high school.Meanwhile,the research will benefit the students in mathematics study in remote Chinese high schools as well asthe maths teaching methods among the teachers.
