The comparative study of Language Elective Textbooks is one of the power of the development of Chinese education in our country, and is the need of the curriculum reform deep developing and the need of especially implementing elective courses teaching.That is greatly significant.On the one hand, studying the various elective textbooks that published at the same time helps see the differences in writing concept and the form of presentation clearly. It is beneficial to teaching researchers and users to understand the teaching material better, complement each other, improve the teaching resources constantly. On the other hand,The content and results of the comparative study of elective textbooks can enrich the theoretical results of the current language teaching materials.Which can also provide some reference and inspiration for the construction and development of teaching materials.This paper selects the “module drama” in “series of fiction and drama” of language elective textbooks in high school. Which takes <Chinese and foreign drama masterpiece appreciation>, <The Chinese and foreign famous reader>,<Chinese and foreign drama classic reader>,<Drama Appreciation>,<Selected readings in Shakespeare’s plays> as research object. This paper trys to study the writing style and content system of elective textbooks comparatively. The five parts of this paper as follows:The introduction part mainly introduces the research origin, research status, research object and research significance. In order to clear the research methods and ideas of this paper.The first chapter mainly compares and analyses the compilation structure of the five kinds of "drama module" elective textbook, so as to sum up their common points. The first point is that the compiling structure of the five kinds of teaching materials has inherited the tradition of the text type selection. The second point is that all of them Embody the teaching material view under the guidance of constructivism, which Focus on the change of learning style. The third point is that all of them embody the suggestion for compiling of curriculum criteria. The difference is mainly reflected in two aspects. One is the diversification of teaching materials group. The other one is the differences in practice and arrangement mode.In the second chapter, through the comparison of content system of elective textbook in five "drama module", it is found that each edition of the textbooks selection is classic. But,taking into account of humanistic and aesthetic art, they are out of time. Knowledge system and practice system is novel, each has its own characteristic. But they focus on humanities,lacking of practice and scheduling of basic knowledge.On the basis of first two chapters, the third chapter makes a general evaluation of elective textbooks of the five "drama modules" and puts forward three suggestions. The first one is that drama selection should be arranged reasonably. The second one is reducing the types of elective courses and cultivating high-quality materials vigorously. The third one is that the excellent teachers working in front line should be arranged into the preparation of elective textbooks.
