Penetration Of Ecological Civilization Education In High School Geography Teaching

It is clearly put forward in the report of the 18 th National Congress of the CPC that ecological civilization construction is a long-term strategy in relation to people’s wellbeing and national future. High school students are considered as decision-makers and constructors for future state building, of whom the qualities in ecological civilization have a direct influence on the up and down of economic and social development, while high school, an important place for knowledge inheritance and value shape, is supposed to undertake the responsibility for ecological civilization education. Geography subject to some extent is integrated to ecological civilization education in terms of research object, research content and research purpose in high school curriculum provision, leading to its dominating position in ecological civilization education.This paper makes a theoretical research on ecological civilization education based on related researches at home and abroad with documentary method. By questionnaire method, it launches an investigation concerning the implementation of ecological civilization education in high school geography teaching and analyzes problems existing in the process, as well as corresponding teaching design and research for teaching practice. Finally, following suggestions are put forward: the first is recognition on the importance improvement of ecological civilization education; the second is full guarantee for the conduct of ecological civilization education by many sided strength including increasing inputs of related departments and geographical teachers; and the third is to effectively promote the ability for developing ecological civilization through improvement of teachers’ design ability and reform of traditional teaching method.
