Constrained and influenced by history, economy, culture, policy guidance and other factors,the reform and development of music education in rural schools is a slow process when compared to urban schools. The music education in rural schools is not well developed for a long time, and remains a weak part of education in rural schools. Meanwhile, the music curriculum implementation is lagging behind with a low quality of teaching; music education cannot achieve a good effect of cultivation of people, and constraints the implementation and promotion of quality education in rural schools, hinders the full development of rural students. Therefore,schools and society need take the problems of music education in rural schools into consideration.In this study, the subject to be researched is the rural primary and secondary music education in Luonan County. Literature review, questionnaire, interview, comparison are used in this study, and uses several representative rural primary and secondary schools are chosen as research samples,and school leaders, teachers, students are investigated. In this study, rural primary and secondary music education in Luonan County is investigated, the causes of the problems are analyzed, and solutions to the problems are suggested, in a hope of helping the local administrative department of education and schools, and make a contribution to the development of local music education and the wellbeing of the work of the rural art education in pilot Luonan County, and provides some advice for the music education reform elsewhere in the country.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is Introduction, this part focuses on the research background, the significance of the research, literature review, theoretical basis, research methods, the research process, research innovation, macro and systematic analysis of the key and difficult aspects of music education in rural primary and secondary schools in Luonan County, and lay the foundation for future study.The second part concentrates on the introduction of the background of Luonan County:summary of Luonan County, local music before, and school music education.The third part of the thesis focuses on the investigation. The leaders, teachers and students of10 rural primary and secondary schools in Luonan County are investigated by questionnaires and interviews, starting from schools, music teachers, students to understand the current state of music education in Luonan County rural primary and secondary schools.The fourth part, based on the collected questionnaires, interviews and field surveys, found Luonan County rural primary and secondary music education problems: exam-oriented education atmosphere, music lessons weakening position extremely serious; funding shortage, serious uneven distribution of music facilities; music teachers unevenly distributed, and it is extremely serious weak; the lack of specific training of teachers, and the training is poor; lack of implementation of music curriculum, the quality of teaching needs to be improved. At the same time, the causes of the problems of music education in Luonan County rural primary and secondary schools are analyzed at three levels: he local education authorities, schools, teachers,The fifth part, puts forward suggestions on Luonan County rural primary and secondary music education reform: change concepts, enhance the music curriculum subject status; increase funding, equitable distribution of resources, facilities and equipment of music; strengthen the music teaching staff, focusing on teachers’ professional development; training should be targeted,focusing on the effectiveness of training; actively carry out extra-curricular activities for studentsand teachers to build a platform for the display.In this study, an objective analysis of the current situation of Luonan County in rural primary and secondary music education is realized, and propose appropriate countermeasures against the problems in the study of thinking, trying to jump out of Luonan County in rural primary and secondary music education itself problematic mindset, from imparting rural teachers’ voice,curriculum standards must be flexible and space to explore the reform and development of rural primary and secondary music education in carrying forward traditional national music culture.This study has some practical significance to the reform and development of rural primary and secondary music education in Luonan County, provides a reference for the development of rural primary and middle schools music education.
