Diamonds are considered as the treasures of the mineral sector because of theirunique aesthetic value, their actual, lasting and emotional value and become a hardcurrency. However the Diamond Industry not only caused some pollution to theenvironment in the traditional mode of mining chain, but also consumed lots of resourcesand energy in the traditional mode of selling chain and consuming chain.The implement of Green Supply Chain Management and its scientific and rationalperformance evaluation can save resources, reduce costs, improve economic performanceand achieve the diamond industry sustainable development. In this paper, starting fromprevious research in the diamond industry green supply chain to the existing supply chainperformance evaluation results, combined with the diamond industry supply chainproblems and supply chain advantages trying to apply AHP model into the diamondindustry green supply chain management in order to built the diamond industry supplychain management system and provide solutions to the diamond industry managementproblems.Firstly, this dissertation introduces the theory of supply chain, supply chainmanagement and green supply chain evaluation and analyses through comparison of thetwo models pointing out the advantages of green supply chain in the processimplementation and its impact on business and its huge environmental benefits.Then we study the current situation of the diamond industry and discuss the reality,the necessity and the feasibility of the diamond industry to implement green supply chainmanagement. Through several typical diamond company’s supply chain research andcurrent problems analyses, a Green Supply Chain evaluation model is constructed basedon the previous research and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method, and then itsoperation processes are analyzed.Finally, BADICA (a Central African diamond company) is the case, were based onAHP diamond industry green supply chain evaluation index and its green supply chainoperation process analysis we apply relevant theories and put forward some optimizationfor its improvement.
