Human is the core of urbanization. Only when migrant workers are citizenizedcan urbanization be actually realized. In the process of urbanization, the migrantworkers have gradually come into the generational transition period and the newgeneration migrant workers have gradually become the main force. Most of them arerural surplus labor force and their flowing between Cities and Villages makes greatcontribution to the urbanization. However, limited by factors like the H.R. system, theL.M. system and the S.S. system, they have to drift on the edge of urban and ruralareas, and it is difficult for them to adapt to the city life. The urbanization of migrantworkers should be promoted. It is of great significance to speed up the process ofurbanization and to promote the healthy development of urbanization.By reviewing related concepts and theoretical foundations of the new generationof migrant workers in the urbanization process, this paper points out that the newgeneration of migrant workers are epochal, developmental and marginal. The classicmodes of labor transfer in the UK, the US, Japan and South Korea are studied andanalyzed, thus introducing the experiences, the lessons and the enlightenments on theurbanization of migrant workers in China. The focus of this research is to analyze thecurrent situation of the new generation of migrant workers in employment, education,income, social security and cultural entertainment status. Based on this, this papersums up the obstacles in the urbanization of migrant workers from two aspects--institutional factors and non-institutional factors. Moreover, the SPSS software is usedto analyze the factors influencing the willingness of migrant workers to stay in thecity. Finally, this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestionsto promote the urbanization of migrant workers from three aspects--the governmentsystem, the migrant workers themselves and the social environment. It providestheoretical reference for the urbanization of the new generation of migrant workers inthe urbanization process, thus promoting the process urbanization which takes thecitizenization of the new generation of migrant workers as the core.
