With the deepening development of economic globalization, China’s reform and opening-up and marketization economy have improved China’s investment environment, which attracts a large number of foreign direct investment in China. In the Sino-foreign joint ventures, management teams from different countries have different value orientations and cultures. Conflicts caused by different management targets, concepts, different ways of communication are likely to result in internal frictions in joint ventures, inefficient management and poorer performance, declining competitiveness that might lead to their failure.This thesis first expounds the background, significance, purposes of research and reviews literature at home and abroad. Then it makes comparative analysis of the characteristics and different management modes between Chinese and Canadian cultures. According to previous research results, the cross-cultural conflicts in Southern PuHui Company are examined by questionnaire method. It concludes that cross-cultural conflicts within Southern PuHui Company are mainly embodied in value orientation,operation principle,operation management, institutional culture and communication disorders. According to the management status of cross-cultural conflicts in Southern PuHui Company, the root causes of its cross-cultural conflict are analyzed, based on which, this thesis puts forward the solution strategies of cross-cultural conflicts for South PuHui Company, including the establishment of cross-cultural management department,which focuses on the cross-cultural management, the use of different national cultures which complement each other, the construction of an amalgamation corporate culture to set up a consistent goal, the improvement of communication channels to reduce cultural misunderstandings, the strengthening of cultural training to promote staff’s cultural cognition, and the implementation of localized management.
