The Industry-University-Research(IUR) cooperative innovation at the present stage of China’s innovation have been upgraded to strategic level, gradually arousing the attention of all levels of government, academe and enterprise. But the increasingly competitive economic environment gives the IUR cooperative innovation a new feature – networked-ness. On the one hand, enterprises go through a transition from participating market competition by themselves to competing as a joint force involving scientific research institutions, in order to obtain different resources. The networked-ness of IUR cooperation enhances the integration of industry and technology, and accelerates the flow of scientific and technological information in the IUR network. On the other hand, the connection among industry, university and research is upgraded to a higher level, changing from immutable to dynamic. Compared with traditional industries, high-end equipment manufacturing industry has stronger demands for talents and knowledge because of high technology integration and innovation risk. It requires enterprises, universities and research institutes rooted in the network to build up external resources to breakthrough innovation bottlenecks. Therefore, taking high-end equipment manufacturing industry as an example, the research of the structure characteristics of IUR innovation network to enhance collaborative innovation powered by the social network, and then promotes the IUR achievements are extraordinarily significance.Based on Social Network Analysis and the influence of network structure and relationship, this paper takes high-end equipment manufacturing industry as an example and collects data from enterprises, universities and research institutes in Shanghai, then measures the current situation of IUR innovation of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Shanghai from the whole network, regional network and individual network. This article first defines and measures the network characteristics, and then, through the correlation analysis and regression analysis, discusses how the IUR cooperative innovation network influences the cooperative innovation and the innovation performance. On this basis, innovation bottleneck and its causes are analyzed. this article puts forward suggestions about the innovation network and the ability of enterprise, university and research institute to promote innovation performance and optimize resource allocation of IUR.Firstly, it was found that the high-end equipment manufacturing industry of Shanghai characteristics:(1) Cooperative innovation network has become an important form of Shanghai high-end equipment manufacturing industry innovation.(2) Cooperation innovation ability of Shanghai nuclear power equipment manufacturing industry and marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry is stronger while aviation equipment manufacturing industry and satellite need to improve cooperation innovation.(3) Enterprise cooperation with university has become the main form of innovation network connection, but the ability of research institutes to promote the development of industry remains to be improved.(4) The Industry-University-Research cooperation innovation manager should be care with the small world phenomenon caused by profit-making. Secondly, this paper summarizes the law of cooperative innovation network:(1) Small world, hole structure of social network have a significant positive impact of the innovation performance of cooperative innovation while the effect of intermediary on innovation performance is not significant.(2) In the Industry-University- cooperation network, innovation performance of core actor is significant difference from the edge actor innovation performance.(3) Enterprises, universities and research institutes are more inclined to build group relations between two kinds of actors.(4)The density of subgroup and cooperative innovation performance has significant positive correlation. High density of subgroup has brought high performance.
