Analysis Of The Bottleneck Restraint Of Grain Production In Shandong Province

The problem of grain production is the basic national security problem that is vital to national interest and people’s livelihood, especially in China ---a typical country with large population and the stability of grain production has direct influence on national security and people’s basic livings. As the important basic grain production base of China, Shandong province is also an important grain output province, playing a key role in national grain production. In recent years, grain production of Shandong province faced many new problems, which is both universal and typical in the development of grain production. The analysis of grain production problem in Shandong province will provide guidance for the analysis of the grain production problems in other provinces.In former days in the analysis of grain production problems, the per unit grain output of a local place were normally inspected and worked as an important indicator for the local grain production. This thesis analyzes the grain production problem from a new aspect and measures a region’s grain production capacity from the perspective of food crop virtual farmland content, which will be more direct in the analysis of grain production conditions of a certain place. Therefore, virtual cultivated land appears not as the solution to the grain production problems but the new perspective for treating the grain production problems. From this perspective, the comprehensive understanding of the grain production problems will be achieved.This thesis firstly introduces the source and intonation of virtual farmland strategy, then gives a brief description of the virtual farmland content of the main food crops in Shandong province and the regional differences from 2000 to 2012, and analyses the differences of virtual farmland advantages of Shandong province based by building the evaluation system of the local virtual farmland advantages with the data in 2012 and makes the differences specification with numbers. Based on the ranks of numbers, the regional classification of grain production advantages in Shandong province and analysis of advantages are made. Finally, problems faced by grain production in Shandong province are analyzed based on the evaluation system of the local virtual farmland advantages and measures to ensure the safety of grain production of Shandong province are given.
