Increasing energy supply shortage and environmental pollution compel people in the world to research and develop the electric vehicles with a wide consensus. As a core component, the electric vehicle battery is the key technology of the industrial. As a new green power supply, either as a main power supply for the electric vehicle running in a fixed and short-distance route, or as an auxiliary power supply for the hybrid electric vehicle, Supercapacitor (SC) is believed to be the most preferred one. Research and development of supercapacitor for the electric vehicle has become the world’s hot spots. While in China, as one of the seven major strategic emerging industries, new energy and new energy vehicles have continually getting financial supports from the government. The projects of supercapacitor industrialization for the Electric Vehicle are in the initial and rapid developmental stage. However, the management of such projects, there are still many shortcomings and defects, mainly including without a sound risk management system, the lack of professional risk assessment and risk evaluation data organization and poor awareness of the project manager to risk management.AW company undertook the Shanghai World Expo key technology projects-The project of supercapacitor industrialization for the Electric Vehicle. The project has quite high requirements on technology, personnel, capital, and management. Meanwhile, how to identify, analyze and control the various risk factors that may exist in project has become key point to the smooth implementation of the project.Combined with the AW company’s project of supercapacitor industrialization for the Electric Vehicle, this dissertation deeply analyzes and reflects on the issues that exists by literature analysis method; Collect and arrange the related information and identify their characteristics by the methods of questionnaires and expert interviews; Classify and indentify of the risk factors by the method of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS); Evaluate the risk of the project by the methods of Gramm and expert scoring; Build the project’s risk response and the monitoring system by causal analysis chart and the risk report; Risk control is implemented by using WBS and Gantt chart. Effective protection is expected to achieve the objective of the project.This dissertation analyzes the uncertain events and an activity exists in the project. Four big risks of technology risk, management risk, policy risk and economic risk are catalogued. Risk assessment is done by sorting of risk probability and hazard. The corresponding risk responsive measurements and risk monitoring methods of risk-sharing, risk containment, risk avoidance, risk transfer and risk tolerance are given based on the results of risk assessment.At present, the practical application of risk management in the strategic emerging industries still lacks. Through the risk management analysis of AW company’s project of supercapacitor industrialization for electric vehicles, this dissertation hopes to provide a reference for its future project risk management and significance for other projects’risk management in this area.
