With the changing of political situation around China, our country is increasing the amount of investment on the strategic and tactical missiles and other aerospace products. Facing the soaring of aerospace products manufacturing tasks in the year of2014-2016, it is very urgent for our factory to find a suitable and effective method to ensure the deliveries in time. The mentioned critical chain method fully considers the resources constraint and uncertainties that maybe effect the project progress, and can control the project progress more reasonably and scientifically, therefore, it is practically significant to apply the critical chain to the manufacturing management of special projects.Aimed at the applicability of the critical chain method, this thesis is focusing on the solution of our factory’s practical difficulties by finding out concrete applying methods. Firstly, the thesis researches and explains the commonly used methods in the filed of project progress management, and compares the critical chain method with the traditional ones by means of contrast analysis. By studying and analyzing the current situation and existing problems of our factory’s manufacturing projects, it can be concluded that the critical chain method is more suitable for the progress management of our factory’s manufacturing projects. Afterwards, this thesis applies the critical chain method to a certain manufacturing project, and releases resources constraint, sets up the buffer area and control the project progress through the identification of the critical chain as well as the application of heuristic algorithm, finally achieving the overall researches to the progress management of the said project. By comparing the practical result with that of traditional ones, the effectiveness of the critical chain method is testified in the practical application. Finally, the critical chain technique is further extended to other types of products manufacturing enterprises in project progress management. By the establishment of the basic principle and organization structure of progress management workflow, this thesis further optimizes the project progress planning processes and project progress controlling methods. In a word, this thesis studies the application of the critical chain technology in product manufacturing projects. Based on the practical case, it is verified that the critical chain technology can resolve the problems of our factory’s product manufacturing project progress management, achieving the optimization of the project progress planning, reasonable allocation of resources and the timing delivery of products.
