With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, Supply of construction land can not meet its demand. How to meet the land demand of economical development and promote economical sustainable development with occupying arable land rarely has been an important issue in land field at present. As an important part of construction land, industrial land intensive use will impact construction land intensive use. Therefore, studying the mechanism and countermeasure of industrial land intensive use will make a significant practical influence on improving efficiency of land allocation and promoting the rational use of scarce land and achieving sustainable economic and social development. As a typical coal resources province, Shanxi is faced with low levels of convergence of industrial structure and low output efficiency of industrial land.Exploring the potential of land to improve Intensity will be effective Ways of promote economic development. By carding studies of intensive land use at home and abroad, evaluation system of industrial land intensive use was built and index weights were determined by entropy and pressure scores, state scores, response scores, integrated scores were calculated. Characteristics of spatial differences on industrial land intensive use were revealed by Adopting ESDA. Reasons of spatial differences on industrial land intensive use were analysised based on regional conditions. Finally, policies of promoting industrial land intensive use were put forward. It was concluded that regions of Shanxi province Show significant characteristics of spatial differences and each zone shows its spatial distribution. Intensity of industrial land of downtown areas is usually higher than that of counties and intensity of developed regions is usually higher than that of the less developed regions, so intensity of industrial land of Shanxi province shows polarization. The results suggest that pressure scores, state scores, response scores and comprehensive scores of Industrial land intensity in Shanxi Province is positively correlated with each other spatially, but spatial agglomeration benefits of Taiyuan, Jinzhong, Yangquan are so weak that radiation effects are not enough. The higher regions of intensity of industrial land are usually distributed in downtown areas or near them, and from downtown to county around, the extent of industrial land intensive utilization reduces gradually. Distribution of pressure scores is affected by geographic conditions, resource endowments, economic foundation, traffic conditions, and scale of cities. Distribution of state scores is affected by topography, land resource conditions, mineral resources endowments, dominant industrial, and industrial development stage. Distribution of state scores is affected by geographic conditions and economic and technical level.
