Along with social development trend of globalization and diversification, the social network relation of the modern enterprise employees is complex and personnel background is diversity. Individuals with different cultural backgrounds, ideas and values show obvious differences, and thus conflicts are frequent. Workplace ostracism as a cold violence is inevitable doping in office politics, and in various forms hidden in the enterprises and institutions. Workplace ostracism will bring a series of long-term and serious impact on the physical and mental health,work attitude, performance as well as behavior of the employees. The employees who suffer from the workplace ostracism are lack of the sense of organization, and generate a strong turnover intention, counterproductive behavior, emotional exhaustion, etc, emotional exhaustion, etc. In the cultural background of China’s "face", high power distance, collectivism, etc., workplace ostracism will exhibit greater destructive power, So it is very important to explore the inducing factors of workplace exclusion in the context of our country. Through the theoretical deduction, it is found that the loss of impression management strategy is one of the important reasons for the workplace ostracism. Based on this background, this paper specific analysis the internal mechanism of the influence of impression management on workplace exclusion by empirically studies, and further reveals the influence of political skills on the relationship between them. This article is intended to reduce the negative impact of workplace exclusion, establish good interpersonal relationships, and put forward the management advice, and promote the common development of enterprises and employees.to achieve win-win.This paper takes impression management as independent variable, impression management as the independent variable, the workplace exclusion as dependent variable, the political skills as regulating variable, exploring the interaction between the three mechanisms. This article contains five parts. The first part clarify the thesis research background and research of theoretical and practical significance, and specific research methods, and expounds the innovation of this article; the second part from the perspective of concept definition, dimensions and measurement, theoretical development to review the related theory of impression management,workplace ostracism, political skill;The third chapter is based on the previous theory to build the research hypothesis and theoretical model, and to determie the selection and design of the questionnaire; The fourth chapter uses SPSS 19.0 software to carry out the empirical analysis, including the reliability and validity test, and the regression analysis of the relationship between the variables, This chapter focuses on the relationship between impression management and workplace ostracism as well as how the political skills influence their relationship; The fifth chapter is the research conclusion. According to the results of theoretical deduction and empirical research, this chapater puts forward the management proposal, and points out the limitations of this research, and looks forward to the future research.The main conclusions of this paper are the following three aspects:. first, impression management and workplace ostracism showed a significant negative correlation, and impression management of three dimensions (ingratiation and self promotion, model) and workplace rejection showed a significant negative correlation, but the correlation of weakness,deterrence and workplace ostracism is not significant. second, the political skill monitor the relationship of impression management and workplace ostracism. Higher political skills can enhance the negative correlation between impression management and workplace ostracism. At the same time, the higher the political skills, the relationship between ingratiation, self-promotion, model and workplace ostracism are stronger; third, the study shows that gender, the working age, job level and the nature of the enterprise have a significant difference on the impression management, workplace ostracism and political skills.The innovation of this paper is mainly manifested in the following two aspects:(1)It reveals the inner link between impression management and workplace exclusion, and further clarifies the relationship between the various dimensions of impression management and workplace rejection. At present, academic field of workplace ostracism research mostly focused on the outcome variables, and the antecedent variables inquiry is still in initial stage. In particular, there is a lack of empirical research, so the studies about the influence factors of workplace exclusion are limited. From the perspective of impression management, there are some new findings in the research of the factors that cause the workplace ostracism. Namely, impression management could negatively predict workplace ostracism, and three dimensions of impression management,including ingratiation,self promotion, the model can also negatively to predict workplaceostracism, but the weakness and deterrence is not significantly related to the workplace ostracism.(2)This paper finds and verifies that the political skills play a regulatory role in the relationship between impression management and workplace ostracism. It is different from the characteristics of population statistics and personality to study whether that is easy to be excluded. This study explores the influence and its mechanism of impression management strategy on workplace ostracism from the perspective of the causes and the response of the workplace rejection, This study found and verified that the political skill adjust the relations of impression management and workplace exclusion, the higher political skill is, the stronger negative correlation between impression management and workplace ostracism; Political skill is higher, and the negative correlation between ingratiation, self-promotion, model and workplace ostracism is stronger.
