Performance evaluation has become the main content of the human resources department daily work, staff incentive efforts to develop business, stimulate branch institutions to develop their business, the bank’s overall rapid development growth play to the positive role. However, with the passage of time, there are some problems in the current performance appraisal system.The paper through the questionnaire survey, analyzes the existing problems of performance management of Bank of Gansu, which mainly include: the performance management system is not complete, most employees do not understand the key link of performance plan, performance counseling, performance communication and performance management; performance assessment is equivalent to the performance management, developed on the branches and internal departments the performance evaluation methods, but not a complete performance management system; there are mistakes in the role assignment, performance management is a responsibility of the HR department and things, but do not think that the leadership and all staff are required to participate in the examination results; the examination results cannot be effectively applied, is used to calculate the performance salary etc.. Based on the analysis of the reasons for the existence of these problems, which mainly include the rapid development growth of survival pressure, the performance management insufficient attention; management personnel, practicing internal strength is not enough; all levels of management are on the performance management by resentment.The paper puts forward the improved scheme of performance management. Improved idea is to establish a complete performance management system, which mainly includes the development of performance plan, the construction of scientific performance appraisal indexsystem, the scientific of performance appraisal and evaluation, performance coaching and communication and properly use the result of performance appraisal.
