Tailings dam is an important link in the safe production of metal and nonmetal mines,and is also one of the major hazard sources in this field.As with high potential man-made debris flow hazards,the accident will cause huge losses to the downstream people's life and property safety,causing serious pollution to the local environment,and also bring serious negative effect to the local economic development and social stability.It is very urgent and important to strengthen the safety management of non coal mine tailings and improve the standardization and standardization level.In order to scientifically and reasonably organize the implementation of tailings dam break disaster prevention and Mitigation Project,the most important task is to have a basic understanding and evaluation of the hazard scope and risk of tailings dam break.Only on the basis of mastering the damage scope of dam break and the risk of dam break disaster,can we achieve the disaster reduction measures targeted,reasonably and economically.GIS technology is a widely used method in recent years.It is a kind of new technology which is formed by the integration of many subjects.It can realize the data acquisition and storage,the editing and analysis of the technical methods,the input and output of the graphics and the user's query.The risk analysis of tailings dam break accident by using GIS technology will play an important role in the safety management of tailings dam break accident.The Lvfangjinggou tailings as the research object,through the debris flow fan plane form conceptual model,to determine the dangerous range of dam downstream.(1)Based on the investigation of the Lvfangjinggou tailings downstream topography,geological structure and other geographical features,determine the dam sand flow began piling up position,and select a suitable plane configuration conceptual model for alluvial fan.Present the maximum length,maximum width,maximum fan angle and maximum area of the Lvfangjinggou tailings downstream accumulation fan depend on the tailings storage,catchment area,watershed elevation and main channel length parameters and then confirm the hazardous area according to the downstream Lvfangjinggou tailings actual terrain.(2)The hazard assessment of the downstream of dam break in accumulation fan based on ASTER GDEM data 1:10000,the distance of fan channel and the Slope in the range of danger will analyzed by using GIS tool,and then calculate classification in GIS.Finally get the map of hazard assessment of research area.(3)Evaluate the vulnerability of the downstream accumulation fan in the dam from the two aspects of the population vulnerability and material vulnerability.Collect data by field method and data collection method,then calculate the vulnerability of population vulnerability and material vulnerability by using GIS tool.Finally,the population vulnerability and material vulnerability are calculated and partition,and then get the map of vulnerability assessment of research area.(4)Using GIS tool to multiply the hazard and the vulnerability based on the definition of risk,finally get the map of risk of research area.(5)Last,establish the risk acceptable level model of tailings.To calculate the loss of life in different situations of the study area,and determine the acceptable level of risk of the study area.Put forward the risk control measures for unacceptable risk.
