Study On Regional Urban Design Of Urban Renewal In Mountainous Cities

Since 2013, with China’s urbanization rate reach and more than 50%, the proportion of extension of new town and renewal of the internal area in domestic urban construction has begun to significantly change, update and reuse of urban stock, gradually become the focus of the city development. At the same time, under the background of globalization, the competition between cities gradually move from physical space to urban culture, and the regional features become the important foundation of urban characteristics expression and urban core competitiveness improvement.In nearly 20 years of extensive urban development model, the old urban space of mountain area cities has suffered from destruction of spatial texture, deterioration of the city natural landscape pattern and landscape elements, residents’ sense of community belonging and vitality of urban public space are gradually losing. Therefore, only by strengthening the regional characteristic of urban cultural uniqueness, the construction and retrofit of old mountain urban space can provide new impetus for the development of urban renewal and transformation.Regional theory research start from the denial of international paradigm, its core goal is hope to eliminate the negative impact of globalization brings to the regional culture, by reference to architecture and urban region experience. In recent years, the regional architecture research pay more attention to individual buildings and neglected the entire built environment which is closely related. It causes the research results cannot objectively and comprehensively reflect the characteristics and formation mechanism of the urban regional culture. Therefore, choose the building itself as the starting point to explore regional, has certain limitations. But based on the city’s overall vision, research of the building groups and the urban environment background texture, can more comprehensively reflect regional features than a single architecture research.Mountainous city old town as the origin of the urban development, has the bright characteristic of geography, history and culture. Research based on regional urban design, will be better able to reveal the old mountainous city’s regional features of complexity, diversity and local, and its culture and history resources can play a more positive role in the process of urban renewal. Therefore, this article attempts to select the regional of mountainous city as the breakthrough point, to explore the regional urban design strategies and methods of urban renewal, in order to provide a new research idea of shaping the people-oriented urban form, improving the quality of urban environment and promoting urban sustainable development.The full text is mainly divided into three parts:The first part includes the first chapter and the second one, based combing the fields of regional, mountainous city, urban renewal and other related research, combined with the current situation of development of mountain city, expounds the scope of topic research significance, the research object, research methods and framework. Then choose mountainous cities in southwest China as research object, analyses their advantages, disadvantages, faced opportunities and challenges in the urban renewal process, points out the core problem of the mountainous city urban renewal, and provide a basis for the following intervention of the regional theory study and the urban design research.The second part is the third chapter. Combined with the research and analysis of the regional theory and urban design, it has clearly pointed out the significance of the urban design method based on regional to the mountainous city urban renewal, and puts forward three important principle of the regional urban design in the urban renewal process of mountainous city.The third part includes the fourth chapter, chapter five and six. It has carried on the detailed research and analysis of the regional urban design strategies and methods in the urban renewal process of mountainous city, combined with the related practice experience and summarized the whole research at last.
