Objective:Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)-related indexes were compared among patients of Han,Hui and Tibetan people in Qinghai Province to reveal difference of BPH occurrence in different peoples.Materials and Methods: A total of 676 Han,Hui and Tibetan BPH patients, who were admitted to the Urinary Surgical Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from October 2015 to October 2017,were enrolled in the study.Records, including left-right diameter and anteroposterior diameter of prostatic oblique coronary section, intravesical prostatic protrusion(IPP),postvoid residual urine, maximum flow rate(Qmax),prostate-specific antigen(PSA),indwelling catheterization/cystostomy occurrence rate, occurrence rate of hematuresis, occurrence of renal function damage, were collected for statistical analysis. Results: 1.During the age range of 70-79 YR,the left-right dimeter was smaller in the Han patients than in the Hui and Tibetan patients, while prostatic left-right diameter suggested no significant different among different peoples of other age groups.2.Within same age groups, the three peoples showed no statistically significant difference of prostatic anteroposterior.3.IPP length suggested no significant difference among the three peoples in the age groups of 50-59 YR and 60-69 YR,but the IPP length of the Han patients was significantly smaller than those of the Hui and Tibetan patients in the age groups of 70-79 YR and 80-89 YR.4.Qmax was not significantly correlated with the nationality, but was negatively correlated with age.5.The postvoid residual urine in patients without catheterization or cystostomy showed no significant correlation with nationality and age.6.In the age groups of 50-59 YR and 80-89 YR,the three peoples had no significant differences for occurrence rate of indwelling catheterization/cystostomy;while in the age groups of 60-69 YR and 70-79 YR,the Tibetan patients had a significantly higher occurrence rate of indwelling catheterization/cystostomy than the Han patients. When IPP>10 mm,the occurrence rate of indwelling catheterization/cystostomy was obviously higher in the Tibetan patients than in the Han patients, while such difference did not exist when IPP? 10 mm.7.Within same age groups,PSA suggested no statistically significant difference among the three peoples.Yet,when IPP? 10 mm,the PSA of the Tibetan patients was significantly smaller than the Han and Hui patients;when IPP> 10 mm,PSA suggested no significant difference among the three peoples.8.Occurrence rate of hematuresis suggested no significant correlation with nationality and IPP length, but was weakly correlated with age.9.The Tibetan patients had an obviously higher occurrence rate of renal function damage than the Han and Hui patients. Conclusions: The differences of IPP growth rate and visit among the Han,Hui and Tibetan patients resulted in differences of indwelling catheterization/cystostomy occurrence rate and renal function damage occurrence rate, while diameters and prostatic oblique coronary section, maximum flow rate and occurrence rate of hematuresis suggested no national difference.PSA,to some extent, was correlated with nationality and IPP length.
