This paper attempts to make a syst ema ti cal research on the preposit ions in the book Sou Shenji which is a cl assi c novel of Wei Jin South & North Dyn asty. Thedescript ion of the semantic system of the preposition mem bers, analys is and concl usion the characteristics of grammaticali zation path of new emerge d preposi tions are t he focus of this paper. There are six chapter s as following:Chapter 2: The Introducti on of the Preposit ion Members System of Sou Shenji. 38 single,7 compound and four structure prepositions will be focused, part ial of which are inherited from before and s ome are the newly genetors in the Wei Jin S outh & North Dynasty.Chapter 3: the Grammatica lizational Analysis of the Single Prepositions of Sou Shenji.In this chapter, al l the si ngl e prepositi ons are classified into three domai ns, including core m eanings, spat io-temporal and relational concepts. In this book, the spatio-temporal domain members are the most wi despread, while the relational concepts are the minimum.Chapter 4: the Lexical iz ationof P repositi on S tructure and the Preposition Structure.Five compound prepositi ons and four prepositions will be discussed about their formation and development.Chapter 5: the Granm ati caliz ation about Prepositions and Preposition St anding.Accor ding to t he origina l meaning, some words in the proce ss of development posses s double att ributes of verb and preposi tion, which is t he feature of grammaticaliz ation course. There are three kinds of prepos ition standing, which are the object deletion, the object implied and the object solidification.Chapter 6: Summary of the Paper.In all, thi s paper com prehensively analyzes the semant ic sys tem of all the prepositions and the uncer tain prepos itions and describes the pat h and process of the newly emerge d preposi tions in Sou Shenji.
