| This is a translation project report on The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and Digital Money Are Challenging the Global Economic by Paul Vigna and Michael J. Casey, of which Chapter 11 A New New Economy is the source text. The source text presents readers an overall analysis of cryptocurrency like bitcoin, and shows readers the authors' unique ingenuity. It's a reported explainer that patiently documents bitcoin's rise, acknowledges its flaws and highlights its promise. It describes the future of bitcoin and its influence it will have on the global economics. This translation project will contribute a lot to China's research on cryptocurrency, as well as improve the translation skills of the translator.This translation project report consists of five chapters. Chapter one is a brief introduction to the translation project's background, significance and objectives. Chapter two is some analysis of the source text, including the introduction of the authors, style and linguistic features of the source text. Chapter three introduces the guiding theory of the translator's translation practice –functional equivalence. Chapter four describes the difficulties the translator has and certain translation methods and approaches the translator uses. Chapter five is a conclusion of the whole translation project, the main content of this part is about things that the translator learns from the project and things that needs to be improved in the future translation practice. |
