| With the development of the globalization, the culture communication between Countries has been increased as well as the economic interaction. Soft news is an important way to promote their local customs and culture. So how to translate the soft news properly is an big challenge for translators. The trans-editing which combines translating with editing has always been used widely.This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the English soft news of the News Trans-Editing Programme at Huanqiu.com. The progranmme lasted three mouth, the author joined three channels: Fashion, Entertainment, Picture. 48 pieces of news which consist 16828 words were completed and published at Huanqiu.com.By reviewing and analyzing the programme and translation prograss as well as case studies, the report discusses three aspects during the translation of the soft news: How to ensure speed and quality, how to definite the role of translator, how to achieve readability. Skopos Theory is used as a core theory in the whole translation. The anthor reveals the importance of analysis of different text types and the goal of translation as well as the espectation of readers according to features of English soft news. In addition, in order to ensure fluency and readability, the author adopts translation strategies like supplementation, omission, substitution and so on.As the report shows, a translator should pay attention to every aspect in the translation programme and put the goal of translation at the first place. This report hopes to provid some useful ideas for the news translators. |
