Escort Interpretation Practice Report By Taking "2015 Grassland Silk Road

The author once had the honor to act as the volunteer of “2015Grassland Silk Road---China-Russia-Mongolia Young Leader Round-table Conference” from September, 25 to 30 in 2015 with the responsibility of escort interpretation. This paper was about a comprehensive conclusion on the practice activity as an escort interpreter aiming at the members of Russia-Buryat Youth League.This practice report can be divided into four parts. In the introduction the author firstly stated that the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership is in the best period with health and steady development currently, especially since the “one belt and on road” strategic development concept proposed by the president Xi Jinping. The exchange and cooperation in various fields between China and Russia is increasing gradually. This part also described and defined the liaison-escort interpretation and differentiated the escort interpretation with conference interpretation. Finally, this part clarified the reasons for writing this practice report.Part one described the escort interpretation tasks including taskbriefing, task objectives and task objects.Part two was the task preparation including background knowledge preparation, professional knowledge preparation and mental preparation.The background knowledge preparation mainly included the general situation of Inner Mongolia Youth Federation as well as the general situation of Republic Buryat. The professional knowledge preparation is the key for the escort interpretation. The author translated “one belt and one road”, Siqintana Art Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum, Shengle campus of Inner Mongolia Normal University and Mengniu Dairy Co,Wulanqiate theatre Ltd into the corresponding Russian.Part three was the case analysis of escort interpretation. The author made comprehensive conclusion and analysis on the problems existed in this escort practice including long translation, miss of interpretation,mistranslation, scrambled translation, cross-cultural communication problems in the oral interpretation and the Chinese dishes translation etc.Part four was the escort interpretation practice experience, which mainly described the personal experience of this practice activity and put forward the direction for the future improvement.The conclusion summarized the contents and shared the practice experience. It is wished that this paper can provide certain reference for the other interpreters.
