Museum International is an authoritative journal about global museums and heritage protection. It covers knowledge from fields like museology. sociology, archeology, history and so on. This paper is a project report based on the translation project of Museum International. The report aims to have a comprehensive reflection and retrospect on the translation practice from the following aspects:project survey, analysis of key and difficult issues and their solutions, reflection and conclusion.Since the translation project is finished under the guidance of Susan Bassnett's Cultural Translation Theory, this report also introduces the content and application of the theory. Susan Bassnett notes that the translation unit should be transferred from text to culture and emphasize on cultural exchanges. The focus of the report is about the analysis of key and difficult issues and their solutions. This part analyzes tough issues at lexical and syntactical levels. The former includes proper nouns, polysemy and redundancy; the latter includes sentence order, long and difficult sentences, as well as sentence voice. Based on translation theories and practice, the problems are finally solved by using strategies like omission, sentence division and combination, changing passive voice into active voice and so on. The translation methods and experience will guide future translation practice.
