Research On The Teaching Method Of Chinese Characters As Foreign Language

Chinese characters are the most important part of Chinese language. In order to be a good Chinese learner, we basically have to learn Chinese characters, understand its meaning and even the host of Chinese culture. At present, Chinese characters are the most difficult part in the process of learning Chinese for foreign students. Thus, we should constantly conclude our teaching experience, explore better teaching methods, and help foreign students to overcome the difficulty of learning Chinese characters. Therefore; the purpose of this thesis is to help foreign students find the most effective way to master in Chinese characters, and to motivate and improve their enthusiasm for studying of Chinese characters.At first, this dissertation illuminates the purpose and meaning of this study. Meanwhile, it also introduces a great number of Chinese characters methods and some summaries on these methods. Based on that, it concludes some basic theories regarding to Chinese characters teaching, including the six categories of Chinese characters theory as well as graphic form theory, and puts forward to some basic methods, including component teaching method, pictophonetic characters teaching method, media teaching methods, which trigger students' interests. Besides, an investigation of foreign students studying on Chinese characters has been conducted that many foreign students think it is really difficult to learn Chinese characters leading to great need for a reasonable and efficient Chinese characters teaching method.Based on relevant theories and personal teaching experiences, we recommend interesting methods, media methods and so on to increase students' interests and learn efficiency.
