A Report On The Translation Of Ecological Ethics: An Introduction(Chapter 7)

This report is a summary of the whole translation process of Chapter 7: Mid-Green or Intermediate Ethics in Ecological Ethics: An Introduction.Ecological Ethics,also named Environmental Ethics,dates back to Animal Protection Movement in the UK in 18 th century and Conservation Movement in the USA in 19 th century.Chapter 7 in this book mainly covers Mid-Green or Intermediate Ethics,which also includes some related concepts,such as Animal Right,Animal Liberation and so on.This paper has been finished based on the translation of this chapter and mainly consists of four parts: task description,translation process,cases analysis and the conclusion.Task description briefly introduces the material source,introductions of this book and its writer and the significance of this subject.Translation process primarily discusses the preparation before translation,revision of the draft and improvement of the translation.As the core of this paper,the part of cases analysis has a detailed analysis from vocabulary and syntax based on 24 cases to present about translation strategies and methods.The last part summarizes the whole translation task from three aspects including conclusion,qualification about the translators and conclusion of translation methods.The author's translation ability has been greatly improved by finishing this task.By writing this report,the author summarizes a number of translation methods and strategies,which is helpful for the author to enhance the understanding of translation and clearly know the qualifications that a translator should possess.
