Physical exercise is an activity increased energy consumption in people's free time.Previous studies have found that physical exercise can influence satisfaction with life directly through self-efficacy for exercise,physical self-esteem and depression.Under the theoretical model about the relationship between physical activity and satisfaction with life proposed by McAuley's team,this study will explore the relationships among physical exercise,self-efficacy for exercise,physical self-esteem,depression and satisfaction with life.Self-demographic questionnaire,Physical Activity Rating Scale ?(PARS-3),the Chinese version of the Self-Efficacy for Exercise(SEE-C),Physical Self-Perception Profile(PSPP),Center for Epidemiological Survey,Depression Scale(CES-D)and Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS)were administrated to 340 deaf college students.SPSS 16.0 and Lisrel 8.70 were used to analyze the data.The study found that:(1)Maximum number of deaf college students in a small amount of exercise,followed by the number of deaf college students in moderate exercise amount,the minimum number of deaf college students in large amount of exercise.(2)Deaf college students' life satisfaction scores were significantly correlated with family economic level and family seat.(3)Physical exercise,self-efficacy for exercise,physical self-esteem and satisfaction with life were significant positively correlation,depression was significantly negatively correlated with physical activity,physical self-esteem and satisfaction with life.(4)Self-efficacy for exercise partially mediated the relationships between physical exercise and satisfaction with life;physical self-esteem partially mediated the relationships between physical exercise and satisfaction with life;depression partially mediated the relationships between physical exercise and satisfaction with life;physical exercise could influence satisfaction with life directly through exercise self-efficacy and physical self-esteem in sequence;physical exercise could influence satisfaction with life directly through exercise self-efficacy and physical self-esteem and depression in sequence;physical exercise could influence satisfaction with life directly through physical self-esteem and depression in sequence.(5)Physical exercise can improve the deaf college students' physical self-esteem and self-efficacy for exercise and reduce their depression,as to improve their satisfaction with life.
