A Report On The English Translation Of Health Care In Eleventh-Century China

TCM(Traditional Chinese medicine),the quintessence of Chinese culture,has spread to the West for four centuries.Translation plays an important role in the TCM internationalization which allows the West to get to know,learn and research TCM.The thesis,in the form of translation report,is based on translating part of Health Care in Eleventh-Century China.It underlines such issues as the spreading of TCM in the West and challenges occurring in the process,comparing TCM terms‘ general translation methods with approaches adopted in the book,and analyzing wording and phrasing in the author translating historical materials and TCM knowledge into Chinese.Also,personal suggestions like cultivating TCM translation talents and standardizing TCM terms are recommended according to the author‘s translation research and challenges met.
