| Based on Skopostheorie, this thesis will analyze some soft news translated in China Daily in order to explore some effective strategies for soft news translation. Soft news, also known as general news, is a means of information spreading. And it plays a more and more important role in state-to-state communication. Previous studies focus on the translators or texts and most of them are guided under some traditional theories, like "equivalence theory", "inter-textual theory" or "relevance theory". But the purpose of soft-news translation is to attract readers and spread information. After analyzing the features of soft news translation, this thesis insists that traditional translation theories fail to guide the soft news translation, while the skopostheorie that focuses on readers can guide the E-C soft news translation reasonably and ensure effective spreading of information.Under Skopostheorie, soft news translation can spread information as well as attract and keep readers' attention. In this way, we can study soft news translation based on Skopostheorie. The thesis analyzes some techniques for soft news translation, guided by the three basic rules of Skopostheorie and using some soft news translated in China Daily as examples. |
