Objective: To study the relationship among conscience,social support and subjective well-being and to illustrate what kind of role social support played in the relationship of conscience and subjective well-being.Methods: 600 junior high school students in Xiangtan,a part of them from county,a part of them from city,were measured with ACQ,PSSS and WBIS.ACQ is developed by Qiu Xiaoyan and Yan Liangshi.Finally,560 questionnaires were recovered effectively.Results:(1)Generally,junior high school students have a high level of conscience at present.There are significant differences among students' conscience level on gender and grade.(2)Correlation analysis showed that all the dimensions of conscience and social support are significant correlative.All the dimensions of conscience and subjective well-being are significant correlative.All the dimensions of social supportand subjective well-being are significant correlative.(3)Regression analysis showed that conscience is a positive predictor of social support and subjective well-being.Filial piety,honesty and credibility,right and wrong,forgiveness and gratitude can positively predict subjective well-being,while filial piety,responsibility,gratitude and sympathy can positively predict social support.Social support is a positive predictor of subjective well-being.Family support,friend support and others support can positively predict subjective well-being.Therefore,conscience and social support are positive predictor of subjective well-being.Forgiveness,right and wrong,honesty and credibility of conscience as well as family support,friend support and others support can positively predict subjective well-being simultaneously.(4)Path analysis shows that social support plays a partial mediating role in the relationship of conscience and subjective well-being.Conclusion:(1)Generally,junior high school students have a high level of conscience.There are significant differences among students' conscience level on gender and grade.(2)There is a significant correlation between conscience and subjectivewell-being.And the higher level of conscience one can reach,the deeper subjective well-being one can feel.(3)There is a significant correlation between conscience and social support.And the higher level of conscience one can reach,the more social support one can get.(4)There is a significant correlation between social support and subjective well-being.And the higher level of social support one can get,the deeper subjective well-being one can feel.(5)Social support partially mediates the relationship between conscience and subjective well-being.A part of conscience can predict subjective well-being directly,while a part of it can predict subjective well-being through social support indirectly.
