A Report On Simulated E-c Consecutive Interpreting

With the growing influence of globalization,the impact of the United States towards China even the whole world cannot be ignored and underestimated.The American presidential election hints and indicates the future policy towards China and the world in certain content.Meanwhile,the uniqueness of the candidates makes the last rallies more valuable.For that,the presidential candidate Donald Trump is a political newcomer with no experience.And if Hillary Clinton won the election,she will be the first female president in the American history.Hence,understanding the core idea from their campaign can be an effective method to observe the information of their governmental affairs,economic trends and foreign policies.Taken the final rallies held separately by presidential candidate Hillary and Trump as the blueprint,the author processed and accomplished the simulated consecutive interpreting report.The thesis contains five chapters.The first chapter is introduction which provides a brief narration on the background information and the status of researches at home and abroad.The second chapter describes the significance of the final rally and introduces the candidates from two parties.The third chapter is task process which contains two parts: task-preparation and quality assessment.The author collected the transcripts from previous debate of two nominees,prepared the terminology,denotation of new terms and summarized detailed policies that the candidates may mention again.What's more,the author applied the method of self-assessment and peer-assessment to evaluate her simulated interpreting and find out the room for improvement in interpreting.The forth chapter is task analysis.In this chapter,referring to Daniel Gile's Effort Model,the author divided the difficulties from three perspectives: listening,memory and production,and adopted relative strategies to tackle.And the last chapter is conclusion.The author makes a conclusion about the entire thesis and proposes some suggestions for future interpreting.
