A Practice Report On Interpreting For The Fourth China-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Farm International Cooperation Promotion

This practice report is based on interpreting for the Fourth China-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Farm International Cooperation Summit in October,2016.The author selects some typical cases during the consecutive interpreting task and combines the translation theory with practice to explore the significance of theory guiding practice.This report consists of four sections.Section one is the description of the interpreting task.In this section,the background,task allocation and the requirements of the event are introduced.Section two describes the translation process in details from three aspects,namely the preparation,the process and summary.Section three is the analysis of typical interpreting cases and a description of the influence of Christine Nord's Function Plus Loyalty theory on the interpreting method selecting.Section four is the reflection of the interpreting practice.In this section,the author emphasizes the importance of preparation before the interpreting,classifies the difficulties encountered in the interpreting process,such as the translation of Chinese political vocabulary,accent of the speakers and the notes taking problems,and lists the solutions respectively.Rethinking about the faults and deficiencies,the author sums up experience and lessons for a better performance in the future interpreting tasks.
