On The Problems Of Note-taking-A Practice Report On Consecutive Interpreting

The report is based on an English to Chinese consecutive interpreting practice.After the interpreting practice,the author finds that note-taking plays an important role in consecutive interpreting and affects the quality of the interpreting,so the author decides to analyze some problems or mistakes made by herself in the practice and gives solutions to these problems relating to note-taking.The practice report consists of four main parts:task description,the importance and methods of note-taking in consecutive interpreting,case analysis,and conclusion of the practice report.First,the author introduces her interpreting task,including the background,process,features,and significance of the task.Secondly,the author analyzes the importance of note-taking and introduces some methods of note-taking.The case analysis serves as the main body of the practice report,in which the author mainly analyzes her problems in the practice:trying to note every word,lack of logic relations between sentences,and failure in reading the notes.After analyzing the problems in the practice,the author gives solutions to these problems with examples from her interpreting case.The solutions are as the following:taking notes based on the understanding,noting down logic relations between sentences,and reproduction with the help of notes.Finally,the author makes a conclusion,which she hopes can be helpful to her future interpreting.
