Along with her increasing exchanges with other countries,China has not only exerted great influence on global economy, culture and politics, but also has attracted numerous foreign tourists for its spectacular natural scenery.Among them,Zhang JiaJie,known as “the first wonder under heaven”,has become the prior choice for foreigner tourists. However, due to their highly artistic appreciation and spirit of exploration, they are no longer satisfied with the traditional touring way of enjoying the landscape and recalling history but to seek the mystery of nature in a more scientific way.To meet the needs of modern travelers,The Exploration of Zhang JiaJie written by Liu Langui and Liu Jinshan under the invitation of Hunan Science and Technology Publishing House is conceived to help visitors get to know the history and transition about the tourist attractions,as well as to explore the mysteries of the geography, topography and the distribution patterns of plants and animals in these areas, which can not only arouse stronger tourist interests but also convey useful scientific knowledge. In order to make foreign tourists comprehensively acknowledge the scenic spots, translators should treat the translation work prudently. The writer of this report took the second chapter of The Exploration of Zhang JiaJie “Natural Design by the Heaven and the Earth” for her translation practice. The original text is of tourism writing in essence. Therefore,on the one hand, its translation should display the feature of utility concentrating on delivering information faithfully and gracefully;on the another hand,it should emphasize the convey and reconstruction of both the original text information and ecological information, which is just what Eco-Translatology concerns about.Eco-Translatology,initiated by Chinese scholar Hu Gengshen,is a systematic translation theory which combines translation with the eco-environment,stresses the adaptation and selection between translator and text;meanwhile,it emphasizes the harmony among translation activities, translation strategies as well as the ecological environment. It corresponds with ancient Chinese philosophical ethos of “the Union of nature and man”.Thus, the author believes that under the guidance of this theory, the translation work of The Exploration of Zhang JiaJie would meet the expectation of target visitors better and draw more attention. This translation report is based on the author's translation practice;the translation is analyzed from the perspective of Eco-Translatology.The content of this report consists of five parts, among which chapter two, three, four are the main parts.Chapter one states the background, reasons, significance and structure of the report.Chapter two elaborates the previous studies on tourists style and its translation.Chapter three introduces the chief principles and translation strategies of Eco-Translatology.Chapter four gives a general analysis of the application of Eco-Translatology in the author's translation text, and the corresponding translation strategies concerning tourism texts under the guidance of Eco-Translatology.In the end a conclusion is drawn about the report, which reviews the encountered difficulties and the limitations of the work.In brief, this research studies the ecological connotation on Chinese-English Translation of The Exploration of Zhang JiaJie,hoping to seek a better effective translation strategy on tourist text and make some contributions to the introduction of Zhang JiaJie tourism.
