The Application Of Communicative Translation In Novel Translation

In the 1980 s,the famous translation theorist Peter Newmark put forward the theory of communicative translation.The report adopts a novel A Spool of Blue Thread as the translation material,which was written by Anne Taylor.It is a famous contemporary English novel and won the Man Booker Prize Fiction in 2005.Under the guidance of the principle of communicative theory,the report used case study analysis.The author analyzed the relevant content and summarized some useful translation strategies in this translation practice,such as sentence reconstruction,word conversion,amplification,omitting subject and using modal particle.This paper consists of five chapters.Chapter One is the introduction of translating task,including the background,the significance of the paper.Chapter Two is the description of the whole translation process,involving pre-translation preparation,translation process and proofreading.Chapter Three is the theoretical basis,including the review and application of theory.Chapter Four is the case analysis.Chapter Five is the conclusion of whole translation task.
