A Practice Report On Escort Interpreting For "the 6th South And Southeast Asia Mainstream Media Tour In Yunnan"

Yunnan has a close connection with the South Asian countries.The friendship between them is time-honored.Especially in recent years,journalism cooperation between Yunnan and South and Southeast Asia is deepening continuously,and a lot have been achieved in press/publishing,radio,television,film,literature,art industry and co-building of think tanks.The South and Southeast Mainstream Media Tour in Yunnan is one of the important part of the series of communication and cooperation.In June 2016,the 6th South and Southeast Mainstream Media Tour in Yunnan was held in Kunming.Under the invitation of China News Service Yunnan Branch,the author worked as interpreter in the whole event.The preparation time of this interpreting task was limited,and there were 48 different journalists from South and Southeast Asian countries attending this event.There accent and own style of expressions in English brought great difficulty in interpreti ng.Both the interpreting task and the report are completed under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory.This report is based on the author 's interpreting practice in “the 6th South and Southeast Mainstream Media Tour in Yunnan”.The interpreting task covers her escort interpreting and conference interpreting.And involved interpreting both from English to Chinese and Chinese to English.This report is divided into two parts.Part One is the transcription of interpretation.Part Two is the interpretation report.2.1 gives a brief introduction to the interpreting task.2.2 analyzes the process of interpreting.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory put forward by Danica Seleskovitch,the author analyzes plenty of examples and corresponding interpreting techniques and methods in 2.3.In 2.4,the author analyzes the problems and solutions of the interpreting task.2.5 summarizes the whole report and offers suggestions for future studies and work.
