The usage of the preposition "gei" is an essential point for foreign students to acquire in learning Chinese.Based on Zhu Dexi's classification of "gei" structure,this dissertation gives a research on the errors when foreign students use "gei"structure.After studying,we found that foreign students tend to make more errors in the acquisition of S1 sentence "N1 + VP +gei + N2 + N3" and S3 sentence "N1 +gei+ N2 +VP+ N3",but make less errors in the acquisition of S2 sentence.This dissertation focuses on S1 sentence and S3 sentence of "gei" structure,and analyzes the errors when they use these kinds of structure.It is hoped that this dissertation can give some reference to the "gei" structure in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Based on the theory of error analysis and the theory of interlanguage,this dissertation analyzes a large number of errors corpus by using statistical data and induction method,and summarizes the types of errors that foreign students make when learning S1 sentences,such as:the omission of "gei";the wrong matching like"verb + gei";wrong usage of verbs;incomplete sentences structure and the mix-usage of S1,etc.What's more,the error types of S3 structure mainly include the following perspectives:the omission of "gei";the wrong matching between "gei"and other words;the omission of verbs,incomplete or surplus sentences structure,wrong sentences order and the mix-usage of S3.Combining the types of the errors,this dissertation analyzes the causes of the errors from three aspects:the over-generalization of the target language,the influence of the learning strategies and the influence of the teaching materials.There are three kinds of over-generalization in the target language:the over-generalization in the rules of sentence,the over-generalization in the rules of verb and the over-generalization in the rules of preposition.And in the part of study strategies,learners usually adopt improper analogical and simplified strategies.While in terms of teaching materials,the improper interpretation of the teaching materials and the inadequate arrangement.Focusing the situation that learners make errors in "gei" structure,we made a corresponding teaching design.
