| Chinese auto websites bring international auto information to Chinese readers byonline auto news trans-editing. This thesis centers on the value judgment in E-C onlineauto news trans-editing and attempts to propose a framework for value judgment. Aninterview survey, conducted by the author, shows that Chinese editors today have apoor knowledge of the value judgment in auto news trans-editing. A corpus of100E-Ctrans-edited auto news reports is also established to reveal the problems related to thefailure in value judgment. From the perspective of Skopostheorie, the thesis studies thecontext for value judgment, including the auto industry, media and readership. On thisbasis, eight maxims are proposed, such as Tendency, Serviceability, Timeliness,Relevance, Impact, Prominence, Conflict and Interest. The interconnected maximsform a framework for value judgment in the context of E-C online auto newstrans-editing, guiding topic selection, headline re-creation and lead redirection, contentselection, and backgrounding. |
