In recent years,the rapid development of the tourism industry has promoted the prosperity of the national economy,and has become a new growth point of the national economy.Therefore,Chinese to English translation of tourism materials is becoming increasingly important.Tourist materials,whose importance is self-evident,have provided international visitors with access to the tourism resources in China.There is no doubt that the international tourism industry cannot have a further healthy development without them.Because of this,translation of tourism materials has become the topic of translators to study and explore,looking for ways to effectively guide the translation theory and the specific translation methods has become the focus of translation studies.The Imperial Palace is our country’s important cultural heritage in the world,with the growing popularity of the large-scale documentary The Imperial Palace on CCTV channel in 2013,the reputation of the Imperial Palace has been further improved,and a large of number of foreign visitors and tourists has flocked to visit the Imperial Palace.In this background,this paper tries to use the Skopos theory and the Imperial Palace historical data while collecting the information about the Imperial Palace,such as Chinese and English versions commentary.Taking the translation of the Imperial Palace commentary as example,this thesis explores on C-E translation of tourist materials,and analyzes the Imperial Palace commentaries and some specific examples of translation to guide the practice of translation and complete the mission of the cultural communication,so as to attract more tourists to come to visit China and further develop our tourism industry.
