Thailand is the preferred country for Chinese to travel abroad,so many Thai people engaged in tourism service industry begin to learn Chinese to improve communication ability in Chinese.The vocational schools in Thailand have trained many students engaged in tourism service,and improved Chinese level of these students,which can reduce the communication barriers with Chinese tourists and promote cultural and economic exchanges between China and Thailand.However,although most schools offer Chinese classes,there are many problems in the teaching of Chinese.Through the survey of Chinese teaching of tourism specialty in Phuket Vocational College and Southern Business Administration Vocational College,the author finds the following problems: single Chinese class,short actual class hour and too many teaching contents;the Chinese level of students is low,but the difficulty of teaching materials is too high;the traditional teaching method of Chinese is not suitable for Thai students.In view of these problems,according to the actual teaching situation,this thesis holds that the Chinese teaching objectives,teaching principles,teaching contents and teaching methods of tourism specialty in vocational schools need to be improved as follows: in teaching objectives,students shall master the vocabulary,grammar and sentence patterns related to tourism in a short time,introduce scenic spots in Phuket,and improve their Chinese level effectively;in teaching,teachers shall obey timeliness,practicability and enjoyment and the teaching principle of contacting realistic situation.In addition,in the selection of teaching contents,with the scenic spots in Phuket as the source,choosing the words and phrases about tourism according to students' major and learning motivation.Then according to the understanding of Thai students and teaching objectives and contents,the author selects four teaching methods:audiolingual method,direct method,translation method and situational method.Finally,the thesis evaluates the teaching effect through the presentation of teaching cases,students' classroom performance and test results.Meanwhile,it provides some suggestions for teaching Chinese of tourism specialty in vocational schools in Thailand.
