Classroom participation is an important carrier of human's subjectivity,which can promote the healthy development of students' knowledge,ability,emotion and so on,which can motivate classroom energy.Participation in classroom is a breakthrough to the traditional instruction,which is an essential guarantee to fully realize the goal of new curriculum reform.The medium students are an important group which are the majority of class and their performance directly affects teaching effect;They are also a special group that the long-term intermediate position makes them an unique psychological and behavior way;They are also a neglected group who often been forgotten by teachers because of their un-outstanding achievements.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the medium's classroom engagement.Based on the summary of the related research at home and abroad,this paper defined the concepts of "medium student" and "classroom participation".The author divided classroom participation into listen,question,answer,discuss,operate and practice six categories from the view of “behavioral involvement”.On this basis,I selected some medium students of junior middle school as the research objects,using observation and questionnaire methods to investigate their overall and specific situation of classroom participation,and summarized characteristics of the mediums' participation,and interviewed some individuals who didn't participate or negative participate in the classroom instruction.The author found that there are some problems,such as the single form,the insufficient internal motivation,the passive mode and relatively shallow level.Then put forward following suggestions: the medium students should know about themselves and correctly position themselves;accumulate knowledge,and enhance their abilities;enhance self-confidence and participate actively;think deeply and dare to question.Teachers should give more care to the medium students;stimulate their internal motivation;eliminate the worry;provide a variety of opportunities for participation.
