The Current Situation Research Of Higher Vocational College Counselors Occupational Competence

As an important part of higher education, higher vocational education shoulders the important responsibility of cultivating applied talents to the nation. As a member of the teachers in higher vocational colleges, counselors committed to the first line of the student work, they will be competent for the job only if they have the corresponding occupational competence, and make better service for the students, then find out potential of students and cultivate the talents of all round development in the new era. However, the group of students and the goal of cultivating are unique, there are differences and emphasis between higher vocational colleges and other types of colleges in the matter of counselors occupational competence.Based on the above understanding and consulting lots of reference about occupational competence of higher vocational college counselors, organizing the related concepts of occupational competence systematically, then dividing the vocational ability of higher vocational counselor into four aspects which include 13 dimensions according to summarizing the relevant research both at home and abroad. To survey the current situation of counselors occupational competence, this research uses a combination of questionnaire, interview and statistical analysis, and makes the survey of counselors and students in some higher vocational colleges in Nanchang, understanding the current situation of counselors occupational competence, and combined with the interview survey, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis of the results, finally to analyze the reasons and find out the solution.The results show that the higher vocational college counselors surveyed whose occupational competence are general, especially in their own research and learning competence is relatively short. The competence of study atmosphere construction, innovation and psychological counseling is obviously insufficient, and the sense of occupational identity is low. But other aspects of the competence are relatively better. What's more, there are significant differences in the age, educational degree and engaged in the counselor. The reasons for this situation mainly include three aspects: the personal, the university and the society. Finally, from the three aspects to put forward the corresponding solution strategies.
