Mobile population, together with natural population not only determine the size of the population of a region, but also affects the social distribution of population and labor resources allocation of the region and even the whole country, then ultimately affect the whole social economic output. Meanwhile, the group of mobile population is also the inevitable emergence of a new type of industrialization, urbanization and modernization process, with the historical inevitability of economic and social development. Since the reform and opening up, China has appeared in several large-scale population movements, especially 1981-1985,1991-1995, well into the 21st century, there were large-scale population movements. During this period, the inter-provincial distribution of the mobile population has also changed greatly, some provinces or autonomous regions from the original population net outflow into a net inflow of population, which includes the study of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in this paper. During the sixth census, the number of Inner Mongolia inflow population up to 717.09 million, higher than the total population of 41.72 million outflow, is there any connection between massive total mobile population and economic development in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region? And whether the large mobile population will narrow the economic development gap of 12 city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region? There are many literatures about the problem of economic development and mobile population in Inner Mongolia area at present, but there are few studies on the effect of mobile population on economic development. Based on the above analysis, this paper tries to answer these two questions. In order to deeply and systematically analysis the connection of mobile population and economic development in Inner Mongolia, this paper is based on the domestic and foreign theories about migrants and mobile population and the relation between mobile population and economic development, quantitative methods and analysis to sort out the current status of research and found that:The theoretical research about migrants question is relatively rare, but the quantitative description are diversity and scientificAfter understanding the previous research results, we make a statistical description of the present situation of mobile population and economic development of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The results showed that the form of Inner Mongolia human mobility mainly presented net inflows, while the population movements between the Union City is not same. Mobile population in the form of net inflow including Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos City, Wuhai City, Alashan and Xilin Gol League; floating population in the form of a net inflow of Union City with Ulanqab, Bayannur City, Hinggan League, Hulunbeier City, Tongliao and Chifeng City. The current situation of economic development of Inner Mongolia in every city of Statistics found that, although the Union City between the initial level of economic development is different, but the development gap between the overall economic convergence trend. At last, we use gray relational analysis method to empirical analysis the relationship between population mobility and economic development in Inner Mongolia, and then calculate the degree of correlation of them. The results showed that in the autonomous region level, the total inflow population and economic development of Inner Mongolia has a higher degree of correlation; total outflow of population and economic development of Inner Mongolia has a low correlation; the role of floating population on the Inner Mongolia region's economic growth rate has yet to be excavated. In the union city level, population inflows from other areas have a higher correlation with the cities of net outflow; flows from League City and provincial population, and the function of mobile population in narrow the gap of economic development between the twelve cities is limited.
