Study On Selected Texts From Chinese Textbooks Of TaiWan

The reform of textbooks has been taken as an important part in the process of the reform of basic education around the world. Since the education of Chinese is the foundation of basic education, its important role has already been self-evident, so have Chinese textbooks. They are not only the specific embodiment of the target and content of Chinese curriculum, but the supporter for teachers and students learning. As the key part'of Chinese textbook, the selection of articles has been the core of concern and study for the researchers, especially about how to reasonably and scientifically select the appropriate articles for textbooks, and arrange them in accordance with the characteristics of physical and mental development of students.There are a lot of similarities in the content selection and arrangement of Chinese textbooks between Mainland China and Taiwan because Mainland China and Taiwan originated from the same root, sharing common teaching philosophy, cultural heritage and language. However, there is little academic exchange for both sides for historical and political reasons. In this paper, the Chinese language textbooks published by Taiwan Kang Xuan was selected as a example to deeply analyze the principle, criterion and basic eternal elements of text selection regarding the text selection as a system, with the wish to provide reference for compiling a textbook which not only conforms to the rules of the physical and mental development of students, but bases on the goal of Chinese curriculum reform.The literature research method, content analysis method, and statistical induction etc. are used in the research as well as pedagogical theory of Chinese curriculum and psychological knowledge. "Chinese as the national language" (one to three grade, six volumes) for middle school published by Taiwan Kang Xuan press was used as example and the selection system is analyzed emphatically.
