Study On Effect Of Residents' Consumption By Population Age Structure In Inner Mongolia Of The Town

The economy of Inner Mongolia has achieved great leap forward development driven by export and investment since reform and opening up,especially since the coming of new century,but the role of consumption in stimulating economic growth has not been fully realized.The final consumption rate showed a downward trend,from 98.2% in 1981 continued to decline to 40.3% in 2014,which declined 1.75 percentage points per year on average.Human is the main body of consumption and consumers in different ages have different consumption ability and consumption choice.Therefore,changes in population age structure will have a certain impact on the level of residents' consumption and residents' consumption structure.There is the trend that demographic dividend gradually disappears and degree of aging of the population continues to deepen in recent years in Inner Mongolia.According,it is of great significance to study the effect on residents' consumption by population age structure in Inner Mongolia.Considering the existence of dualistic structure in urban and rural in Inner Mongolia,the paper takes the effect on residents' consumption by population age structure as subject investigated and takes population age structure in Inner Mongolia of the town as cut-in point to launch research from two aspects of the level of residents' consumption and residents' consumption structure.Combining theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,an empirical research is carried out on the effect on residents' consumption by population age structure with existing statistical data from statistics and measure analysis based on the influence mechanism on residents' consumption by population age structure from theoretical analysis.Firstly,expatiates the research background and significance of the effect on residents' consumption by population age structure as well as defines the related concepts of consumption,then analyzes the influence mechanism onresidents' consumption by population age structure.Secondly,analyzes evolution characteristics of population age structure and present situation and trend of residents' consumption in Inner Mongolia of the town respectively with the statistics in the past 20 years from 1990 to 2014.Based on the characteristics of population age structure in Inner Mongolia of the town,an empirical research is carried out on the effect on residents' consumption by population age structure by using measuring software.Empirical results show,the population age structure in Inner Mongolia of the town has a negative impact on the level of residents' consumption.Moreover,the greater the difference of the consumption capacity among the underage population,aging population and working-age population is,the greater the degree of the influence is.Besides,population age structure and residents' consumption structure in Inner Mongolia of the town have canonical correlation and the expenditure proportion of residents' consumption structure can be better predicted by the typical variables of population age structure.Moreover,it would be best to predict the expenditure proportion of food,the expenditure proportion of health care and the expenditure proportion of traffic and communication.Finally,puts forward five suggestions: raise income to support the real purchasing power,advocate right and healthy consumption concept,adjust industrial structure and promote the upgrading of consumption,fractionize children market and develop grey market,strengthen the quality education of working age population,pay attention to the construction of social welfare system from the perspective of population age structure based on the above conclusions in order to improve level of the residents' consumption and optimize the residents' consumption structure in Inner Mongolia of the town.
