The implementation of innovation-driven development strategy and taking the road of independent innovation are the inevitable choices for China to pursuing sustainable international competitiveness enhancement in knowledge economy era.Talents are the main body of innovation and the most important key resources for a country or region, where can bring together a large number of high quality talents to form a talent highland, where there will become the commanding height of innovation and will be able to accumulate a stronger competitive advantage. Therefore, accurately grasps the realistic development status of talent agglomeration of our conutry and further explores the interaction relationship and correlation relationship between the quantity and quality of talent agglomeration and regional economic growth, not only can provide useful references for government to adjust local talent policy, but also can provide policy recommendations to enhance the competitive advantage and promote the sustained and coordinated economic development of all regions. This research divides 31 provinces in mainland China into three economic regions as research object, not only analyzes the realistic development status of talent agglomeration of our country, but also explores the interaction relationship and correlation relationship between talent agglomeration and regional economic growth from two aspects of quantity and quality by combining the theoretical and empirical methods.First of all, this research defines three key concepts of talent, talent agglomeration and regional economic growth, then provides a statistic caliber for talant. In addition, this research lays a sufficient theoretical foundation by using relevant literature on talent agglomeration, regional economic growth and the relationship between talent agglomeration and regional economic growth.Secondly, this research analyzes the current situation and dynamic development of talent agglomeration in three major economic regions and 31 provinces from two aspects of quantity and quality, and compares with its economic development level. This comparision is aimed at evaluating their coordination degree. Then, after all the variables passed the Panel Unit Root Test,Panel Cointegration Test and Granger Causality Test, this research verifies the interaction relationship between talent agglomeration and economic growth from two aspects of quantity and quality. Finally, after chooses the appropriate panel data regression model type and influence form according to the results of F Test and Hausman Test, and puts 4 key economic factor indicators as control variables, this research quantitatively measures the influence extent which the quantity and quality of talent agglomeration devoted to the regional economic growth, then conducts comparative analysis.Research conclusions are as follows:(1)The level of the quantity and quality of talent agglomeration of the three regions are upgrading all the time, but the increase speed has slowed down in recent years. There are large regional differences between agglomeration quantity and quality, and the development of quantity and quality of talent agglomeration both dosen't coordinated with the corresponding regional economic growth level.(2)The quantity and quality of talent agglomeration both have interaction relationship with regional economic growth.(3)The quantity and quality of talent agglomeration both are positively correlated to regional economic growth.(4)Talent agglomeration isn't the major engine of economic growth until now.Fixed assets investment, entrepreneurial environment and urbanization also can play a great influence on regional economic growth.
