The New Curriculum Reform has made new demands on teacher education in aspects of idea,accomplishment,approach and other related skills and on the teacher professional development,which has the important leading meaning in promoting the domestic high school education quality.It is noted in English Curriculum Standards that we should help students fully develop comprehensive English skills,and we should help them actively cultivate emotional attitudes to language learning,that is,active thinking,active practice,broad cultural awareness and initiative for self-learning.At the same time,the New Curriculum Reform has given some suggestions on the teaching of high school English teachers: teachers should constantly update their knowledge structure so that the English curriculum requirements can adapt to the development of modern society;teachers should carry out teaching according to the allocation of per-iods to ensure teaching efficiency,quality and effect,especially for high school English teachers who must get devoted to more professional planning and learning according to their own development.In the practice of the New Curriculum Reform,as one of the cores of the language discipline,the full range of English curriculum reform is the most challenging.That is to say,whether the English curriculum reform goal can be realized depends on the possibility whether English teachers' education concept,teaching ability,subject knowledge structure and other professional accomplishment can get comprehensive improvement.Therefore,the issue of teacher pro-fessional development has therefore become the key to the success of the New Curriculum implementation and reform with high school English teachers as an important link of the reform process.This study,based on the theory of many related research results at home and abroad,focuses on the present situation investigateon of high school English new curriculum reform in Hulunbr city,Inner Mongolia.At the same time,in the context of the New Curriculum,the study analyzes the main problems and their causes in the process of the high school English teachers' professional development in detail,and puts forward some targeted improvement strategies accordingly.This research mainly focuses on the following core issues:(1)New demands on China's high school English teach ers' professional development in the context of the New Curriculum;(2)Basic situation of China's high school English teachers' professional development in the context of the New Curriculum;(3)Measur es for effectively boosting China's high school English teachers' professional development in the context of the New Curriculum.Looking forward to further enriching the theory and practice research and providing certain reference on the domestic high school English teacher professional development.
